In 1990 two brothers who went by their last name, "Calloway," had their one and only major hit. As far as stereotypical late 80's/early 90's pop music goes, I Wanna be Rich fits the mold perfectly. The lyrics are also spectacularly uncreative; as a 13 year old I remember being very unimpressed by "I spend my money on lottery; my favorite number is 1 2 3..." But the tune is catchy and it has a nice happy vibe to it; almost a reggae/steel kettle drums type of sound that makes you feel like you're on vacation in the Caribbean.I wonder if this song was enough for the Calloway brothers to reach their self proclaimed financial goals? I think I bought the cassette single, but their cut of that .99 cents probably didn't get it done.
