I guess I should start using capital letters now

Ok, so here's the big news: I've been asked to contribute to a website called Cosby Sweaters.  Basically I'm just going to post some of my blog entries on their website as well.  I'm not sure how big a deal this is, but 1,637 people "like" it on facebook, so it's definitely a step in the right direction.  Here's the first thing I posted, my advice for buying a round of drinks in a crowded bar.   Anyway, it's a whole other thing, and I was up till 6 am last night just beginning to figure out how it works.  I'll write something new and interesting by Monday though I promise.

Oh!!!  I forgot, this is important: if you read one of my links on Cosby Sweaters, make sure to facebook "like" it!!!   I'm just starting to understand the significance of that, but one thing I know for sure is it's good.

*warning: if you're not a vineyard person this will be boring

i've been coming here for all or most of the summer for the past eleven years.  how did it take me till this year to discover norton point?  i mean i knew it was there, but i didn't ever go.  and now i may never do regular south beach again.  maybe it's just cause i'm getting old, but i'm 93% sure it's way better.

what would you pick for your MLB walk up music?

i remember taking a girl on a date to a red sox game a few years back, and she noticed that they all had a different song play as they were stepping up to the plate.  she asked me "what song would you pick if you were a player?"  i think i may have freaked her out a bit because i answered right away without even thinking about it.  is it weird that it's something i'd already debated and come to a decision on a long time ago?  anyway, it's the first seven seconds of "ditty" by paperboy.  no brainer.

what are the chances i'm going to get asked to play in the all star game tonight?

i've been playing a little softball lately, so i think i should be about next in line.  felix hernandez gets replaced by jon lester (who they know is injured) who gets replaced by ricky romero?!  that's the toronto blue jay ricky romero, who has a 7-8 record.  david robertson.  jordan walden.  aaron crow.  michael pineda.  matt joyce.  tyler clippard.  ryan vogelsong.  gaby sanchez.  ok, i'm tired of typing names, but i could go on.  all of those guys are "all stars."  i'm pretty sure i could have made up a bunch of fake names just now and 99% of people wouldn't even know the difference.  this thing is kinda becoming a joke.

and if anybody who reads this can name that "all star" on the right (without cheating), i'll give you a free subscription for life, which should be worth something once my blog gets huge.

red sox complete sweep of orioles despite using #70 as starting pitcher

the sox called up #70 from pawtucket yesterday, then handed him the ball vs baltimore for his major league debut.  he wasn't very good, but it didn't even matter.  somehow he managed to last beyond a pretty horrific 6 run 2nd inning.  #70 actually would have been in line to get the win, but he got tossed from the game in the 5th inning.  no big deal though, this team can rake.  they're now 20 games over .500 at the break.  if crawford, lowrie, lester, and buchholz can all get healthy, boston should go something like 62-10 in the second half.

SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got to be honest, the only reason i watched that game today is because when i turned on the TV it was still on espn from last night.  and it was EASILY the most amazing soccer game i have ever watched in my life.  horrible calls.  man down.  overtime.  fake injuries.  last second goal.  penalty kick win.

unbelievable.

hope solo reminds me of michael phelps back when the US had the amazing come from behind relay win at the 2008 olympics.

when i woke up this morning never in a million years did i think i was going to spend my afternoon yelling at the TV over a women's world cup soccer game.  and now i can't wait to watch the semifinals wednesday at 1130 am.  this is why i love sports.
