San Francisco Giants outfielder (and the MVP of this year's All-Star Game) Melky Cabrera was suspended 50 games yesterday for violating MLB's drug policy. A quick analysis of his stats makes it seem pretty clear that he used steroids, beginning in the 2011 season:
|
It's fairly obvious Melky cheated. |
- In 2010 he batted .255 with 4 HR and 42 RBI's. The next year he hit .305 with 18 HR and 87 RBI's.
- For the first 6 years of his career, his full season averages were 144 hits, 27 doubles, 10 HR, 62 RBI, and a .267 batting average.
- The past two: 218 hits, 42 doubles, 18 HR, 89 RBI, .322 average.
Sorry Melky, the numbers don't lie.
Stats do not prove he was steroids prior to the 2011 season, look up Bautista's stats 2008 15 homers 2009 13 homers 2010 54 homers!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell he also admitted it. And I think Bautista may be doing something fishy as well http://www.lucidsportsfan.com/2011_05_29_archive.html#589124508776512178
ReplyDeleteIf you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'. That's still the law in baseball.
ReplyDeleteThe greatest crime is to stop trying...just ask ManRam.

(I've been posting at this site lately. A dude I met through B/R started it up recently. Check us out from time to time when things get slow at the bar.)
On another matter, as long as I'm visiting:
What can your lucidity derive as a motive for Clemens's return -- is he trying to forestall his eligibility for the HOF to avoid the probability of embarrassingly low vote totals, or is this an innocent attempt to recapture his youth?
Due to both my Boston roots and Roger's haughtiness, I'm not a big fan either.
Take care and be well, good sir
